Fan Fiction

“The Curse of Sparrow” by Hector Mata
Pirates of the Caribbean Fan Fiction
The world has been a witness to everything that happens on it. One of the most entertaining things it has ever witnessed is the great adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow. Who is Jack Sparrow? Well he is the greatest pirate to sail the seven seas. I have never met him though. But, his legend has been passed down through generations and is alive and fresh still today. I couldn´t tell you how long it has been since Jack Sparrow disappeared along with his crew and the Black Pearl.
There are many rumors about what happened to him. Some say he drank from the fountain of eternal youth and others that Barbosa finally killed him. One thing is for sure though, this world hasn´t changed much, and there are still pirates, magical beings and even the same lousy government.  Excuse me for not introducing myself first, my name is Panfilo but I am known as Pan.
Ever since I can remember I have wished to roam the open ocean in search of adventure, treasures, woman and everything a pirate can wish for. That´s right, I am a pirate. I am the proud captain of my ship, which I baptized “Katrina.” I have my right hand man Jaco and Felix which his job is searching for approaching land. I know what you might think, there is not enough people in my crew to handle a ship, and you are right. There is someone else helping us move around, her people help out a lot.
Her name is Mayanela, or Maya, and my lady to her minions. She is a princess who convinced her father to allow her to adventure on the open sea. Unfortunately, she happened to see my great ship and I was forced to take her along with me. I am the captain of this great boat but she acts like she is the one wearing the hat here.
The wind is strong today and we are sailing north, in search of the great compass that Jack Sparrow use to have. According to the legend, Sparrow left his magic compass on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Now, I know it seems crazy to search for an island in a place as big as the Atlantic, but if I get my hands on that compass, I could become the greatest pirate in the history of this world. We have been sailing for 3 months now, the more days pass by, I get more excited.
Felix begins to yell his lungs out, whooping and cheering for the appearing island far in the horizon. I allow myself for a giant grin as the crew begins to do their job and I prepare myself to face my destiny. Of course, Maya interrupts saying she will go on the expedition to the new Island.  I do not enjoy her annoying company, or anyone else´s besides Jaco and Felix. But, since she fed us the last three months, I really don´t have a choice. We reach the small island. Me, Maya, Jaco and Felix set out on the small life boat towards the hidden treasure.
As we set foot upon the warm sand, we notice a dead silence all around us. I look back to Katrina and promise to return to her. I lead the small party into the small jungle before us; pushing away giant leafs and branches. I could feel the compass waiting for me; I just know it belongs in my hands. We keep walking a few minutes until we reach a small opening.
Jaco uses the lord´s name in vain as we see an unbelievable display before us. There is a skeleton, laying there against a rock, with my beautiful compass on its hand. Without hesitation I launch myself towards it while Maya begins to nag about how I am reckless. I take a hold of the compass and pull it away, but fail. Before I can try again, the skeleton gets up on its own.
The skeleton pulls out a sword from the ground nearby and begins to swing it violently. It was dumb of me to think the great Jack Sparrow did not leave a trap. I quickly draw my sword and begin to fight back. Although it is just a skeleton, he has amazing sword skills. He attacks with strange moves, like if I was fighting a drunk. I keep on attacking him, although he seems to have no guard, none of my quick attacks get through. Finally Jaco and Felix join the quarrel. We attack him as fast as we can but his sword abilities are beyond my imagination. Maya draws her bow and arrow and aims at the attacking enemy. The skeleton stops his attacks and stares at the princess.
The skeleton defending the compass begins to walk awkwardly towards the princess Maya. His movements are that of a drunk, but at the same time he seems to be on his guard. Maya shoots the walking bones right in its skull. He pulls out the arrow and says that Maya is a bit rude. His voice is also that of a drunk. The skeleton walks back to the rock he was laying against and pulls out a bottle of rom from behind it. He offers to give us the compass if we can give him all the rom on our ship. Also, he adds that only one should be present at the moment of the trade.
We quickly return to Katrina. Me and Maya wait for Jaco and Felix on the shore as they went to get all the rom the life boat could carry. When they arrived I decided to take the rom to the cursed skeleton who had my compass. I arrived and the skeleton seemed to be talking to himself, until he saw me. I showed him the rom and the skeleton stretched out his hand with my compass on it. I reached for it and as soon as I placed my hand on it, my body froze. I was unable to move, but that is not all.

My skin began to fall from my body and slide on to the skeletons. Quickly, my body begun to turn into only bones and the skeleton before me begin to take my appearance. He gave out a devilish smile and let go of the compass, which stuck to my hand. He told me that we had made an even trade and wished me luck. He also mentioned that I was a lucky person to have met Jack Sparrow in person. I stood their motionless as I watched Jack Sparrow walk away with my body. The compass begun to spin and it pointed towards Katrina. I look over to the stone were Sparrow had been laying and read the words written on it: BEWARE OF JACK SPARROW´S CURSE.
